Mr Roboto was written by Dennis DeYoung from the band Styx. This song if one listens to the introduction reminds me of an old song that has a sci-fi theme to it, this song reminds me of the movie Blade Runner which we had to watch for a design assignment. This song was recorded on the album called “Kilroy Was Here”. The song in my opinion is about a robot made in Japan hence the line ‘parts made in japan’. This robot idea reminded me of the replicants in the movie Blade Runner but the difference is the robot in the song wants to help and full of emotion. In the film, the replicants just demand for life and are seen as mean killing machines with a short life span. This song has been featured in many films and TV series.
